The Congress Center of the Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Monterrey. Within the framework of the 78th Anniversary of the Tecnológico de Monterrey, FEMSA and the Tec de Monterrey remembered the life and work of Mr. Eugenio Garza Sada, founder of the educational institution, whose legacy continues today with the presentation of the Eugenio Garza Sada Prize 2021. The Award is awarded to people and institutions that lead projects with high social impact. In this edition, Eng. Jorge Mazón Rubio was recognized in the Humanist Business Leadership Category ; to the association Solidaridad Internacional Kanda, AC, in the Social Entrepreneurship category ; and Hello World, a group of students who also belong to the Tec de Monterrey Leaders of Tomorrow program, in the Student Social Innovation category.
The Award has been awarded since 1993 and its objective is to recognize business leaders and national or foreign institutions, as well as students from Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad Tecmilenio, who direct projects of high social impact in the communities of Mexico. The award ceremony was chaired by José Antonio Fernández Carbajal, executive president of FEMSA and president of the Chinese Australia Phone Number List Council of Tecnológico de Monterrey, who said: “Despite the great technological, cultural, environmental and social changes that have occurred in the world in the recent decades, today more than ever the humanist philosophy of Don Eugenio is still valid in the 21st century.” “The principles of individual freedom, free entrepreneurship, social commitment and that human dignity is above any other consideration, are those that continue to guide and inspire us,” he added.
The winners of the 28th edition of the Award were recognized with the sculpture “Inner Light” by Yvonne Domenge and a written recognition. Likewise, the winner of the Humanistic Business Leadership category received a check for 750 thousand pesos, which will be donated to a Mexican non-profit civil association selected by the winner. The winner of the Social Entrepreneurship category obtained 750 thousand pesos; and the students in the Student Social Innovation category 500 thousand pesos, of which 100 thousand are for the project and 400 thousand for an international experience in a leading entrepreneurial ecosystem. «This award created in memory of Mr. Eugenio Garza Sada, a leader who generated a lot of value and decisively contributed to social well-being, since its first edition has managed to inspire and motivate entrepreneurs who exercise their leadership with the same philosophy as our founder.
